Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit on St. Marys River Drive by a red dirt bike.

Sault Police have identified the dirt bike that collided with a pedestrian earlier this week on St. Mary's River Drive.

"The investigation is ongoing and police are not seeking additional information at this time," says a brief news release issued Friday morning. "We thank the community for assisting in this investigation."

Sault Police are looking for a dirt bike driver who hit a pedestrian downtown — then kept on riding.

Police say the collision occurred Tuesday at around 7:30 p.m. on St. Mary’s River Drive, and involved a red Honda CRF dirt bike with no licence plate.

The pedestrian sustained minor physical injuries and was transported to hospital.

“The driver of the dirt bike did not stop to check on the pedestrian and drove away,” says a news release issued this morning by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

Anyone who may have dash cam footage or surveillance footage, witnessed the collision, or who may know the driver’s identity is urged to call Cst. Guild in Traffic Services at 705-949-6300, ext. 383.
