Residential fire reported on Estelle Street

No injuries were reported, but a home in the 100 block of Estelle Street suffered smoke and fire damage last week.

Fire crews found smoke and flames in the home's upper level after responding to the fire incident on Friday evening.

"After further investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be combustibles in close proximity to an open flame," says a news release issued by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.

PUC Services and Enbridge Gas attended the scene, and the Red Cross was contacted to offer assistance.
