Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m. patrol officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service assisted by police K-9 Justice located and apprehended one male in relation to a theft that occurred in the area of the Station Mall.

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m. patrol officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service assisted by police K-9 Justice located and apprehended one male in relation to a theft that occurred in the area of the Station Mall.

It is alleged that the accused, 19 year old Dylan King of 774 Wellington Street East stole a bag containing a quantity of cash from a male victim while inside the station mall.  The accused then ran from the scene and Cst. Turco with his K-9 partner Justice were called in to assist.  After a short track the accused was located at a residence in the 100 block of Birch.  He was arrested and all of the money was recovered and returned to the victim.  Mr. King was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and will be appearing in court on May 13th of this year.

On the April 13, 2013 in the early morning hours Police attended a residence on Albion for a domestic call.  Investigation revealed that accused, a 22 year old male caused mischief to back door by kicking it. Once inside the residence the accused proceeded to assault the adult victim by slapping her in the face.  At the time of assault the victim was holding their son and he also was struck in the face by the accused's hand.  Police arrested and charged the accused with two counts of Assault and Mischief.  The accused will appear in bail court on April15th.

On the April 13th at approximately 02:22 hours, in the downtown section of Sault Ste. Marie, the accused, an 18 year old female, did commit robbery with co-accused, Zachery Bisaillon, age 21 of 207 Meadow Park Cres. Sault Ste. Marie of an adult female.  Officers learned the victim was walking home when she was physically attacked. The two accused persons took the purse from the victim. The victim received minor injuries. At the time of the robbery the female was on young person’s probation order not to consume any alcohol, to abide by a curfew between 11 pm and 7 am daily, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The female has been charged with Mischief and Robbery under the Criminal Code, and two counts of Failing to comply with Probation Order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Bisaillon was charged with Mischief and Robbery under the Criminal Code. They both will appear in bail court on April 15th.

On April 13th, 2013 a 53 year old female assaulted her husband in an east end residence by pushing him. Officers arrested and charged the female with Assault following this domestic incident. The husband was not injured in the incident. She will appear in court on May 22nd.

In another domestic related incident on the afternoon of April the 13th, Police Officers arrested a 27 year old male for mischief and assault. The male punched a hole in the wall and as the argument escalated he assaulted his spouse by punching her. The victim received minor injuries in the incident. The accused will appear in Wash court on April14th.

On April 12, 2013, a 29 year old male was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under five thousand dollars in regard to a domestic incident.  It is alleged that the male assaulted a female by grabbing her by the neck and pushing her.  He is also alleged to have smashed a kitchen chair and damaged her cellphone.  He will be appearing in WASH court on April 13, 2013.

 On April 12, 2013, a 44 year old female was arrested and charged with breach of probation X 6 in regard to a domestic incident.  It is alleged that she became involved in an altercation with her partner and was on numerous probation conditions regarding her.  Her partner, a 40 year old female is charged with assault as it is alleged that she punched the other party in the face and then threw her against a wall.  As well, this person is charged with mischief under five thousand dollars as she damaged the drywall in one of the cells at the Police Station.  One person will be appearing in WASH court on April 13, 2013 and the other appearing in court on May 13, 2013.
