Break and Enters

Sometime on February 26 unknown culprit(s) broke into a residence on Gladstone Avenue. Taken from the residence was a fridge, washer and dryer.

Arrests

On February 26 officers from the Break and Enter Unit arrested 20-year-old Denver Hansen of McFadden Avenue and 19-year-old Brent Villeneuve of Broadview Avenue. It is alleged that the two accused broke into Korah Collegiate High School on two occasions. Further these accused were found to be in possession of property that had been stolen from the break ins. During the arrest officers recovered 11 stolen cameras which were valued at $8500. Both accused have been charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of possession of stolen property. The accused will attend bail court on February 27.

On February 26 at 5 p.m., officers arrested a 15-year-old female. It is alleged that the accused attacked another young female known to her at the city transit terminal on the same date by repeatedly punching her in the head. The accused has been charged with assault and will appear in court April 4.

On February 26 at 9:45 p.m. officers arrested 52 year old John Pozzo of West Street, who was wanted on warrants for two counts of breaching a court order and assault. When arrested it was found that the accused was again breaching his court order by attending a prohibited address and failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused will appear in bail court on February 27.

On February 27 at 12:15 a.m. officers arrested 21-year-old Shawn Fortier of Highway 17 North, Goulais River. It is alleged that while officers were investigating the accused on another matter he was found to be in possession of 56 grams of marijuana. The accused has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and will appear in court on April 4.
