On the 23rd of January 2015 at approximately 5 p.m., officers from Patrol Services attended a centrally located residence for a domestic dispute.

On the 23rd of January 2015 at approximately 5 p.m., officers from Patrol Services attended a centrally located residence for a domestic dispute. Police investigation revealed that the accused had entered the victim’s residence unlawfully and further breached a number of release conditions. The accused was on a recognizance with conditions not to communicate with the victim, attend her residence, not to molest, harass or annoy the victim and lastly not to consume alcohol. Charged is a 36-year-old male with four counts of breaching his recognizance and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. The accused will appear in WASH Court later this morning, the 24th of January 2015.

On the 23rd of January 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Patrol and Fire Services responded to a structure fire on Edinburgh Street. The building was vacant at the time of the fire, no injuries reported. There was extensive damage to interior of the residence. The fire is still under investigation by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Criminal Investigation and Fire Services. The fire is being treated as suspicious at this time. Anyone with information about this fire is urged to contact the Sault Ste.
