City Police were dispatched to a west end residence earlier today regarding a domestic related incident which also involved the male holding a knife to his own throat and threatening suicide.

City Police were dispatched to a west end residence earlier today regarding a domestic related incident which also involved the male holding a knife to his own throat and threatening suicide. Prior to Police arrival, the male fled the area with the knife in hand. As a result, ESU members along with the Canine Unit attended to the area as well. After a canine track, the male was located at another address in the west end with no injuries and was subsequently transported to the Sault Area Hospital for assessment.

A 48-year-old female was arrested by City Police Detectives today and charged with assault and assault with a weapon in a domestic related incident from overnight. It is alleged she attended the residence of her ex-boyfriend last night, began arguing with him and then threw beer bottles at him, striking him in the head and ended up punching and slapping him. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on July 9.
