47 year old Geoffrey Scott Chamings of 181 James St. #4 was charged by City Police for theft on March 16th. It is alleged that Mr.Chamings was at the downtown Wal-Mart when he left the store without paying for an undisclosed amount of X-box games. He will be appearing in Provincial Court on April 22nd.
A vehicle parked in the 200 block of Gloucester St. had a window smashed out of it overnight.
On March 15th, 2013 at 4:50 pm a 17 year old female turned herself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Building. The youth was wanted was in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle from the 30th of December 2012. In addition Officers were looking for the female with regards to a robbery from March 3rd. It is alleged in this incident she was involved of the theft of a ball hat from another person. The youth has been charged with Theft under $5,000.00 and Robbery. She will appear in court on April 23rd.
On March 15th, 2013 at 6:30 pm Dylan Doyon, age 21 of 50 Fish Hatchery Rd. Sault Ste. Marie turned himself in to Police. Doyon had failed to attend court on Feb. 25th for an outstanding assault charge. Doyon was on release conditions not to consume alcohol and when he attended at the Police Services Building he was found to have breached this condition. He was arrested and charged with Failing to Re-Attend Court and Breach of Undertaking. Doyon will appear in court on April 22nd.
On March 15, 2013 at approximately 8:40 pm Patrol Officers were called to a motor vehicle in the snow bank in the 500 block of Pine St. Officers found the male driver to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested the driver for Impaired Driving and Driving over .08. The male driver, Stephen Smylie, age 50 of 519 Queen St. East, Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with these offences and will appear in court on April 22nd.
In early March 2013, Louise Desmoulin age 39 of 346 Albert St. West Sault Ste. Marie, allegedly stole a pair of shoes from Sears in the Station Mall. On March 16th Patrol Officers located Desmoulin at a downtown residence and arrested her for theft of the shoes. Officers also charged her with Breach of Undertaking for attending at the Station Mall contrary to a previous release order. She will now appear in court on April 22nd.
Police Officers responded to three break and enter calls overnight. A residence in the one hundred block of Third Line East was broken into and thieves made off with a lap top computer and some jewellery. Likewise a home was entered on Weldon Ave. and thieves stole some jewellery. And in the third incident thieves broke into a home in the 500 block of Second Line West and removed a television, some coins and jewellery.
