Afternoon news At approximately 5:30 this morning officers attended the Lock City Dairy area on McNabb St. for a report of a horse running loose. A moose was located and scared back towards the bush line.

At approximately 5:30 this morning officers attended the Lock City Dairy area on McNabb St. for a report of a horse running loose.  A moose was located and scared back towards the bush line.

At approximately 8:30 this morning officers attended the Super 8 Motel on Great Northern Road for a 3 foot python found on the lawn.  Information was received that the snake was removed from a room by a staff member.  The Humane Society attended and removed the animal.  The owners had not been identified at the time.

19 year old Ryan Simpson of 58 Wellington St. West was arrested at 0335 this morning on a warrant for robbery, assault and breach of probation.  It is alleged that on the 5Mar13 at approximately 12:15 pm officers attended at the Sault transit terminal at 160 Queen Street in regards to a fight and second assault.  A male victim was assaulted by two males known to him and had his ball cap taken.  During the event a bystander attempted to stop the robbery and was assaulted by the accused(s).  All parties have now been arrested.  Simpson will appear in bail court Tuesday.

On May 17 2013, officers of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on St. Mary’s River Drive as a result of a drug investigation.  A search was conducted of the vehicle and occupant and it is alleged that she was found to be in possession of approximately $150 worth of cocaine, digital scales and packaging materials.  As a result 30 year old Christina Deluca of 813 Wellington Street East was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.  She will be appearing in court on June 24.
