On November 10th 2012 at 2:45 am Patrol Officers attended a residenc in the west end of the city for a domestic dispute. Officers learned that a 35 year old male had assaulted his girlfriend by pushing her to the ground. The male was arrested and charged with assaulting her and has been remanded in custody until he appears in bail court on Tues. November the 13th

Drug charges
On the 9Nov12 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team Unit, Intelligence Unit, and Emergency Services Unit along with the OPP K9 Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at 601 Wellington St. W. in the city of Sault Ste. Marie. Located in the search was 6311 grams (13.9 pounds) of marihuana for distribution, 13 grams of cannabis hashish for distribution, 22 grams of marihuana for personal use, 1 gram of cannabis hashish for personal use, a small amount of growing psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and a small amount of cash. Police further located a prohibited weapon (butterfly knife) and a large amount of hydroponic growing equipment.
The two residents [charges withdrawn] and [charges withdrawn] were arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of production of a controlled drug, three counts of possession of a controlled drug, and possession of a prohibited weapon. [Withdrawn] was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon in contravention of a prohibition court order. The street value of drugs seized is estimated at $127,080.00. Both will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court) Saturday morning to be remanded to bail court on Tuesday morning.
Domestic assaults
A 48 year old male will also be in WASH court Saturday charged with threatening death resulting from a domestic incident.
As a result of a joint investigation with the Children’s Aid Society, a 35 year old male will also be in WASH court Saturday charged with 4 counts of assault for assaulting his two children and spouse. It is alleged that he punched one child in the face on two occasions causing injuries and punched the second child in the stomach causing marks on another occasion. As well it is alleged that he assaulted his girlfriend by pushing her.
A 35 year old male will also appear in WASH court charged with assault after it is alleged he pushed his spouse down the stairs.
Vehicle entries
A vehicle on Koprash court was entered overnight and several items were stolen.
Mischief to vehicle in the 300 block of MacDonald Ave as well as mischief done to a vehicle on Bay St.
Theft from a vehicle in the 400 block of North St. Wallet was stolen.
