Today at approximately 1 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 503 Trunk Road, for an intoxicated male to be removed from a bus.

Today at approximately 1 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 503 Trunk Road, for an intoxicated male to be removed from a bus. The intoxicated male was apprehended and removed from the bus and charged under the Liquor Licence Act and the Trespass to Property Act. Subsequent to that call, officers received information that there were passengers on the bus with firearms. The bus was cleared and checked by officers and the canine unit. There were no firearms located and no one was arrested or charged as a result of this information.

25-year-old Samantha  Barrett of no fixed address was arrested by patrol officers on an outstanding warrant for unlawfully at large and breach of probation. The accused was given and intermittent sentence on August 14, 2013 to serve her time on the weekends. However, as of September 7, 2013 she stopped showing up at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre as required by her probation order. She is being held for WASH court.

A 19-year-old male was stopped in a vehicle on Queen St. When asked for his name, the male falsely identified himself. Investigation revealed that he was wanted on outstanding warrants for domestic assault and fail to appear in court. A charge of personation was also added. He will be appearing in WASH court this morning.

During a vehicle stop in the downtown area, 18-year-old Justin Smith of Aweres Township was found to have pepper spray on his person. He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. He will appear in court on December 9, 2013.
