A 17-year-old male was arrested in relation to a theft. It is alleged that on the 22nd of November the accused stole $20 from his grandmother. At the time of the offence he was on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation and will be appearing in court on December 24.

On November 23 shortly before noon hour Sault Ste. Marie Police attended at the Greyhound Bus Terminal on Trunk Road regarding a report of a male being on the bus that was wanted by police in Quebec. A 42-year-old male was taken into custody without incident and will be returned to Quebec to face charges of criminal harassment, threatening, assault with a weapon and attempted murder in relation to a domestic violence incident. No further details will be released by our service as we are not the investigating agency.

52-year-old Sandra Emeny of 345 St. Georges Avenue East was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on November 20 the accused stole the purse of a female known to her. She will be appearing in court on December 23.

43-year-old Lorinda Nolan of Garden River was checked at Canada Customs in her vehicle early this morning after she exhibited signs of impairment. She was arrested by Customs officials for impaired driving and City Police were notified. After performing two Intoxilyzer tests at the City Police Station, Miss Nolan was further charged with consuming over the legal limit. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on December 23.

52-year-old Clara Ouelette of 83 Adrian Drive will also be appearing in court on December 23. It is alleged that the accused pulled up to a booth at Canada Customs where the customs officer noted signs of impairment by alcohol. The accused was arrested and turned over to city police. She was transported to the police station and processed. She is facing one count of impaired driving and one count of driving a motor vehicle over the legal limit.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. police responded to a domestic disturbance on Church Street. It is alleged that a female approached a male with a knife in her hand. The male removed the knife from her hand causing a cut to his hand that did not require medical attention. The male then struck the female several times in the head causing injuries that did not require medical attention. She will be appearing in wash court charged with one count of assault with a weapon and he will be appearing in wash court charged with one count of assault.

On the 22nd of November City Police officers arrested 22-year-old Michael Gingras of Goulais Mission Rd. It is alleged Gingras stole cologne from Sears and was chased by security to Wellington St. E. where he was apprehended by security. During the apprehension it is alleged Gingras elbowed a female security guard in the face. As a result Mr.Gingras was charged with assault, theft and five counts of breaching conditions of his probation including, not to attend the Station Mall and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He will be appearing in Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court later this morning.

City Police attended to a centrally located residence on November 22 regarding a domestic related incident. Investigation revealed that a 37-year-old woman damaged her boyfriend’s apartment and threatened to burn it down. Once officers arrested the accused it was learned that she was on probation as well. She was charged with mischief, threatening and failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She will be appearing in WASH court later this morning.

In the early morning hours of the 22nd of November, a 44-year-old female broke into her ex boyfriend’s west end residence and caused damage to a TV stand and cut up some of his clothes. She was later located by Police and charged with break and enter and mischief. She will be appearing in Bail court on November 25.

An 18-year-old male was arrested by City Police officers early this morning regarding a domestic incident. Officers attended a west end residence after receiving a call of a disturbance. While they were there the male suspect jumped out of a window and fled the scene. A track was performed by PSD Justice and the male was located in a shed away from the scene of the crime. The male was subsequently charged with assault, mischief and breaching two counts of a probation order relating to the consumption of alcohol. He will also be appearing in WASH court later today.
