On October 18 2014 at approximately 5:30 am Patrol Officers responded at a house fire located at 545 Connaught Ave in the west end of the city. After investigation Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services determined that the cause of the fire was arson.
On October 18 2014 at approximately 5:30 am Patrol Officers responded at a house fire located at 545 Connaught Ave in the west end of the city. After investigation Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services determined that the cause of the fire was arson. Sault Ste. Marie Police Services requests the assistance of the public. Anyone noticing any suspicious individuals in this area during the early morning hours are asked to contact Investigation Services (705) 949-6300.
On October 18 2014 while conducting routine patrol, officers stopped a vehicle being operated in the downtown core. A CPIC check of the driver revealed that he was on a Recognizance not to occupy the driver’s seat or operate a motor vehicle. Subsequently, Ian Agawa 33yrs of Mission Rd. Goulais River was arrested for this offence. He will appear in court next month to answer to the charges.

On October 17, 2014 at approximately 5:10 pm City Police attended at 44 Great Northern Road regarding a male that was wanted on an outstanding warrant. On arrival met with the accused Stephen Samuel Hilb age 44. The accused was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. The incident dated back to September 20, 2014 when it is alleged that the accused attempted to pawn two helmets that had been taken from a vehicle on September 18, 2014. The accused will appear in court on November 24, 2014 at 9:00 am.
