City Police attended to a Willow Ave. apartment complex today regarding a domestic related argument. Investigation revealed that a male damaged property belonging to a female victim whom the accused male had been in a relationship with in the past.

City Police attended to a Willow Ave. apartment complex today regarding a domestic related argument. Investigation revealed that a male damaged property belonging to a female victim whom the accused male had been in a relationship with in the past. It was also learned that the accused had assaulted the victim earlier this year and also again on this date. As a result, the male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief to property. He will be appearing in WASH Court tomorrow morning.

On the 26th of September 2014 at approximately 2:45 p.m. Patrol Services attended in the west end of the City with regards to a domestic dispute. As a result of the investigation charged is a 29-year-old male for assault, mischief under $5,000 and breach of his probation order. It is alleged that the male threw a suitcase at the victim, damaged her cordless phone and breached his conditions by not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. The accused will appear in Wash Court this morning the 27th of September 2014.

On the 26th of September 2014 at approximately 3:07 p.m. patrol officers attended a residence in the 200 block of Brown Street with regards to a firearm complaint. Patrol officers with the assistance of detectives from Investigation Services commenced an investigation into this complaint and subsequently obtained a search warrant for the residence. Recovered from the residence was a 12 gauge sawed off shotgun and a quantity of cannabis marijuana. Charged is a 16-year-old youth with breach of an undertaking, possession of a firearm dangerous to the public peace, careless storage of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm without being a holder of a licence, possessing a prohibited firearm together with ready accessible ammunition, possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking under the Control Drug and Substance Act. The youthful offender will appear in Wash Court this morning the 27th of September 2014.

On the 26th of September 2014 at approximately 4:30 p.m. security for the Canadian Tire store attempted to arrest a shoplifter suspected of stealing tools from the store. Security was confronted by the suspect brandishing an x-acto knife. The suspect was able to leave the scene without incident. The suspect is described as: male, 35-45years, 6’0”, 160lbs, no front teeth, eye glasses, checker board tattoo left forearm, wearing: a blue pin stripe shirt, blue jeans and a blue jays hat. This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

On the 27th of September 2014 at approximately 12:54 a.m. officers from Patrol Services responded to a domestic incident in the 400 block of Wellington Street East. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-male was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug (cannabis resin) and breaching his probation order by not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. The male is scheduled to appear in Court on the 27th of October 2014.
