Sault man accused of assaulting police officer

On May 1, 2020, officers with Patrol Services arrested 29-year-old Michael Gingras for assaulting a peace officer.

At 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a man running in and out of traffic on Korah Road. Upon arrival, police identified the man as the accused. [It is alleged that] the accused approached police in an aggressive manner and he was arrested. After the arrest he continued to struggle with officers and kicked officers twice.

He is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 20, 2020.
