Sault man wanted for attempted murder locally arrested in Peterborough

A 29-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie, wanted on attempted murder and several other weapons charges has been arrested in Peterborough.

Zachery Bisaillon was arrested Tuesday evening in Peterborough, Ont. and is facing robbery with violence and dangerous operation charges in the southern Ontario city.

Peterborough Police say that at approximately 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, they responded to a call regarding an idling vehicle being stolen and a female passenger being shoved out of the vehicle before it left the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital and treated for her injuries before being released.

The vehicle was located about an hour later north of Peterborough in a ditch.

Bisaillon was held in custody and scheduled to appear in court in Peterborough on Wednesday.
