Sault Police arrest 14-year-old for Albion Street assault

Teen faces multiple charges, including assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats

A 14-year-old is facing multiple charges after an assault last Friday night.

At around 8 p.m. on July 26, someone phoned 911 to report an incident at a multi-unit residence in the 0-100 block of Albion Street.

Sault Police say the suspect had already left the scene, but was located and arrested in the 300 block of Great Northern Road.

“An investigation revealed the accused had physically assaulted and verbally threatened an adult victim who is known to them,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “The victim sustained minor physical injuries.”

The teenager is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Choke, Suffocate, or Strangle
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x2

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on Sept. 24, 2024.

The 14-year-old’s identity cannot be published under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
