Sault Police have arrested and charged Claude Corriveau with kidnapping stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 25.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that Corriveau forced a victim into a vehicle before injecting them "with a substance."

The individual was then driven to a residence where they were restrained and threatened, the release states. The victim notified police after they managed to escape the situation on Nov. 28.

Police located and arrested the 52-year-old accused yesterday.

At the time of his arrest, Corriveau was found to be in possession of a single round of ammunition, police say.

The accused was held for bail court and stands charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, administering a noxious thing, uttering threats, assault, and possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
