A 21-year-old woman has been charged with assault after a person was allegedly punched in the face on Northern Avenue earlier this week.
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Northern Avenue on Monday June 5 after a 911 call, according to a press release from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
Police say the alleged victim knows the accused, who was arrested the following day.
Emily Lapham faces one count of assault. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on July 31, 2023.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Lapham is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
