A 39-year-old woman is accused of defrauding her employer of more than $1,600.

At around 9 a.m. yesterday, a person phoned 911 to report that an employee had committed fraud at a business in the 200 block of McNabb Street between May 2 and July 19 of this year.

The employee allegedly made multiple fraudulent returns and placed the funds into her personal bank account. The total amount was $1,636.85, police say.

Officers visited the woman’s home but she was not there. She later turned herself in at police headquarters.

April Milsap is charged with one count of fraud under $5,000.

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on October 30, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Milsap is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
