This morning, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service resumed its search and recovery efforts for missing person John Szczepanik at Pointe aux Pins.
Assisting with the efforts are area law enforcement and associated agencies, including volunteers from the Marine Security Enforcement Team (MSET - RCMP / Canadian Coast Guard), Michigan State Police Underwater Recovery Unit, U.S. Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste. Marie, Sault Search and Rescue, and others.
Szczepanik was last seen on Mar. 5, 2017 riding his snow machine on the ice near open water by Pine Shores Drive.
