Second arrest in connection to incident on Trunk Road

One accused was arrested on March 8, 2022, but further investigation led to a March 10 arrest of a second individual

A second person has been arrested in connection to an incident on Trunk Road that occurred on March 8.

Donna Sofea has been charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance.

On March 10, 2022, officers with Investigation Services and Patrol Services charged 49-year-old Donna Sofea of Thunder Bay with robbery.

Around 4 p.m. on March 8, 2022, the accused, and another person, attended a business in the 100 block of Trunk Road, selected purses from the shelf, valued at approximately $200, and left without attempting to pay.

An employee followed the accused and the other person to the parking lot and asked if they had a receipt for the items. At this time, the other person shoved them and left the area in a vehicle.

One accused was arrested on March 8, 2022, but further investigation identified Ms. Sofea and she was located on March 10, 2022 and arrested.

She is charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Breach of Recognizance – Fail to Appear for Fingerprints x3

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 11, 2022.
