Male charged for driving with a BAC over the legal limit

On the 25th of January 2017 officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 56-year-old Mark Demarchi of Second Line West for an impaired driving related offence.

Just before 6 p.m. on January 25 officers responded to a motor vehicle collision at Second Line West near Farwell Terrace. 

Officers identified the accused as one of the drivers involved in the collision and a demand was made for the accused to provide a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device.  The accused provided a sample and subsequently registered a fail on the roadside screening device.

He was taken into custody and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit.  He will appear in court on February 27, 2017.
