Stolen licence plates lead to drug bust on Trunk Road: police

Sault Police say 28-year-old was found this morning with $3,800 worth of suspected drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine

A 28-year-old Sault man is facing multiple drug-related charges after police pulled over a car with stolen licence plates.

Officers pulled over the vehicle at around 8 a.m. today in the 400 block of Trunk Road.

Police say they found various amounts of suspected drugs worth more than $3,800, including seven grams of fentanyl, four grams of methamphetamine, three grams of cocaine and two grams of crack cocaine

Devon Phillips is charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance x3
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. None of the allegations have been tested in court and Phillips is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
