*************************
On May 28, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Levi Laundrie for impaired driving.

Just after 1 a.m. on May 28, officers responded to a call for service outside of a downtown establishment. Officers spoke with the accused at that time in relation to a trespassing complaint and he is alleged to have been intoxicated.

While officers were issuing the accused an offence notice for trespassing, he left the area.

Officers parked a short distance away and soon after observed the accused driving his truck towards the parked police vehicles. The accused was stopped and arrested for impaired driving.

A demand was made for the accused to provide a sample of his breath into an approved instrument; however the accused refused to provide a sample of his breath.

Mr. Laundrie has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on July 10, 2017.
