The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service aided two experienced boaters on Thursday after motor trouble left them stranded.

Police responded after receiving a call from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. 911 shortly before 1 p.m. that the boaters were stranded in the area of Gros Cap.

Despite the motor trouble, the boaters were able to make it safely to the shore line.

Officers were able to get in contact with the boaters, advising them to stay in their location where two officers reached them on ATV's.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the boaters were brought to safety by police.

The boaters did not suffer any injuries.
