Arrests/Charged Persons: 22 year old Candace Louise Miron was arrested by City Police early this morning on an outstanding warrant for breaching a condition of her Recognizance which required her to attend at specific times to the John Howard Society

22 year old Candace Louise Miron was arrested by City Police early this morning on an outstanding warrant for breaching a condition of her Recognizance which required her to attend at specific times to the John Howard Society. She is scheduled to appear in Court on September 10th.

26 year old Jean-Claude Paquette was arrested by Police this afternoon outside his residence in the east end of the City. Mr. Paquette was requested to leave the residence by other family members due to his excessive drinking and escalating violent behaviour. He refused to do so, and as a result the Police were called. Another request was made by the officers on scene for him to leave at which point Mr. Paquette became assaultive towards the officers and had to be pepper sprayed to be brought under control. He has been charged with Assault Police and Resist Arrest and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on September 10th.

29 year old Dayna Johnston was arrested on the 5th of August for 1 count of Fraud. It is alleged she used identification that was reported stolen to Police in July to open up a cell phone account and purchase a cell phone. She is to appear in court on September 10th.

Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes:

On the 5th of August at 10:00 am City Police attended to the intersection of Gore and Queen St. E. regarding a personal injury motor vehicle collision. Both vehicles were driven by persons who reside outside of Sault Ste. Marie. 1 passenger in each vehicle was taken to the Sault Area Hospital with minor injuries. Once investigation of the collision was complete, officers charged Ming Guang Chu of Saskatoon Saskatchewan with Red Light – Fail to Stop under the Highway Traffic Act.
