On December 14, 2014 at 10:35 am Patrol Officers arrested and charged a 21 year old male with 3 counts of Assault and one count of Threatening Bodily Harm following a domestic related complaint. Officers had learned that during the months of November and December the male accused had assaulted his girlfriend on three different occasions. The victim received minor injuries in the assaults. He also threatened to harm her. The male will appear in bail court on December 15th.
On December 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm Police Officers arrested and charged Shawn Fortier, age 20 of 3833 Hwy 17 Goulais River Ontario with Theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged he shoplifted merchandise from Canadian Tire at 44 Great Northern Rd. He will appear in court on January 12th, 2015.
On the 14 December 2014 the City Police Ride Program was set up on Second Line East when they checked a black pickup truck. The driver of that vehicle had the odour of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and was given a roadside test. He registered a fail and was brought in for a breath test where intoxilizer results confirmed he was over the legal limit. Charged is Barry Beharriell (age 56). He will be appearing in court on the 19 January 2015 to answer to the charge.
On the 14 December 2014 City Police Ride Program was set up on McNabb St when they had occasion to check green Plymouth Neon. The driver of that vehicle had the odour of alcohol on her breath. She was given a roadside test and registered a fail. She was taken to the police station where intoxilizer results confirmed she was over the legal limit. Charged is Amanda Milner (age 36). She will be appearing in court on the 19 January 2015 to answer to the charge.
On the 13 December 2014 City Police responded to the scene of a personal injury accident at Wellington St West and Carmen’s Way. It was discovered that a silver Nissan Rogue had rear ended a white Dodge pickup truck. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. A two year old child was ejected from her seat and suffered serious injuries. She was transported to hospital. City Police are continuing their investigation. Charges are pending.
