On January 19, two females were arrested at WalMart on Great Northern Road for shoplifting. It is alleged that the two entered the store and concealed numerous food and clothing items valued at almost $500 and left the store without paying.

On January 19, two females were arrested at WalMart on Great Northern Road for shoplifting. It is alleged that the two entered the store and concealed numerous food and clothing items valued at almost $500 and left the store without paying. They were apprehended by store security and returned to the store. 30-year-old Charlene Recollet and 26-year-old Vanessa Southwind both of Copernicus Street will both be appearing in court on February 24 charged with one count of theft under $5,000 each.

On January 18, 2014 police attended at the WalMart store on Great Northern Road regarding an accused in custody for theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused stole a Blackberry Curve cell phone and a Nokia Lumina cell phone.  The accused was arrested by security. A police check revealed that the accused had outstanding warrants for failing to attend court and theft under $5,000.  Police arrested the accused.  The accused, Glen Alan Pelchat age 29 of St. Georges Avenue, will appear in WASH court (weekend and statutory holiday court) on January 19, 2014.

On January 18, 2014 police stopped a vehicle in the area of Wellington Street West and Carmens Way. Officers could detect an odour of alcohol and the accused was asked to provide a sample of his breath at which time a fail was registered. The accused was arrested for having care and control of a motor vehicle while having over 80 mgs. of alcohol in his blood. The accused was also on probation with a court order condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  The accused was transported to the police station for a breath test and failed. The accused, Dustin Lewis Schrik of Dundas Street, age 28, will appear in WASH court on January 19, 2014.
