On the 6 July 2013 police investigated two separate domestic complaints where two men were arrested. In one incident it is alleged a male grabbed his partners’ arms and pushed her to the side when he was leaving the residence. He is charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on the 21 August 2013. In the other incident, it is alleged a female was choked by her husband. He will be appearing in bail court on Monday morning.

At 12:45 am a 13 year old male was taken into custody for being intoxicated. The youth waslocated in the St Georges Ave West area of town.

At 1:42 this morning 48 year old Incheol Baek of Amber St was arrested by officers for care and control of a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired by alcohol. It is alleged that Mr. Baek was located behind the steering wheel of a motor vehicle that was stopped in the middle of Hughes Street. After breath tests were conducted at the city police station, the accused was also charged with Over 80 mg. Mr Baek will appear is scheduled to appear in court on August 12th.

On the 7th July 2013 at about 2:30 pm Police responded to a local Tim Horton’s establishment where a male decided to sit down and open a can of beer he had brought with him.
He also decided to light up a cigarette inside the business.
Despite a very pleasant employee requesting he cease and desist several times, he refused.
Police responded where they found that the man was very intoxicated and rather belligerent.
He refused to leave the premises when directed.
He currently resides in a holding cell at the Sault Ste Marie Police service charged with being intoxicated in a public place, failing to leave a premise when directed and under the Sault Ste Marie by-law for smoking in a place prohibited.
Incidentally, 6 more cans of beer were found on his person when he was searched.
