On the 29 June 2014 shortly after midnight, City Police were dispatched to the area of upper Lake St. regarding a domestic dispute. It is alleged a male grabbed his female partner by the neck and pushed her to the ground. The male fled the scene but was located by Police a short distance away. The man was charged with domestic assault and will be appearing in WASH court on Monday morning at 10:00 AM.
On the 29 June 2014 at 1:30 AM City Police were surprised to see a vehicle being driven without the front passenger tire on Korah Rd. It was not difficult to spot as sparks were flying behind the rim. Police turned to stop the vehicle and the driver attempted to duck down residential neighborhood streets. Police pulled the vehicle over where the driver was found to be impaired by alcohol. It was also discovered the accused was on conditions not to have care or control of a motor vehicle and had a curfew to remain in his residence. His previous surety had requested to be removed as his guarantor because the accused was not abiding by his release order. He will be appearing in bail court on Monday at 10:00 AM. Charged is Ryan Young (age 21) of Woodcroft Ave.
On the 29th June 2014 responded to an assault complaint in the area of Wellington St West near John St. A young man (age 17) was located by City Police in the backyards in that area. He was also found to be on a curfew to be in his residence between 11 PM and 6 AM. When the police arrested the man, he struggled with them and refused to co-operate. He was subsequently charged with trespass at night, resist arrest, and breach of probation x 2. He will be appearing in court on the 22 July 2014.
On the 29 June 2014 police responded to a domestic assault complaint in the west end of the city. It is alleged that a 43 year old male assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her arms. He then broke her cell phone when she attempted to call the police. He allegedly threatened the woman with bodily harm and also threatened to kill her cat. The man was on a probation order. He was on conditions not to communicate with the female, not to harass her, stay away from her residence and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He went out a window as police arrived but was located a short distance away. The man is charged with assault, threatening x 2, domestic mischief and breach of probation x 4. He will be appearing in bail court on Monday at 10:00 am

Arrests
24 year old Cody Bjornaa of Charles St. was arrested at his residence in regards to a warrant for failing to re-attend court in regards to an assault charge. He will now appear in court on June 28 2014.
On June 28 police were called to a residence in the north end of the city for a possible Break and Enter. Investigation revealed that a male that was at the residence. The male was also on a probation order not to attend there as a result of a domestic conviction had been at the residence. He was arrested, charged and will appear in WASH Court this morning. The 46-year old male was charged with one count of breach of probation. At the time of the arrest officers also located a small amount of hash oil on the accused. He was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.
On June 28 police received a 911 call for a male causing a disturbance at an apartment on Borron Ave. When police arrive the male assaulted two officers and resisted arrest. The officers did not require medical attention. 43 year old Gray Latvanen of Borron Ave was charged with 2 counts of assault police and one count of resist arrest. He will be appearing in WASH court this morning.
On June 29 police received an erratic driving complaint of a Jeep Liberty. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and the driver on Korah Rd. Investigation revealed that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A search of the vehicle resulted in locating a small amount of marihuana. 28 year old Micheal Morningstar of Goulais Ave. was charged with impaired driving and possession of marihuana. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 11 2014.
