23-year old Deiter Prairie-Chicken of 212 St. Georges Ave. W was arrested by City Police this morning and charged with Robbery. It is alleged on the 14th of March, the accused posted an item for sale on facebook.

23-year old Deiter Prairie-Chicken of 212 St. Georges Ave. W was arrested by City Police this morning and charged with Robbery. It is alleged on the 14th of March, the accused posted an item for sale on facebook. The victim agreed to meet the accused to purchase the item. At that time, the accused pulled a knife on the victim demanding money; however, the victim fled, sustaining no injuries and later contacted the Police. Mr. Prairie-Chicken will be attending bail court March 16.

A vehicle, shed and garage were entered earlier today in the 1000 block of Fourth Line East. A large amount of Canadian Tire money was reported stolen.At 11:15pm on March 14, 2015 Sault Ste. Marie Police officers attended at a local hotel after receiving information of a women was being detained against her will. Investigation revealed that a domestic argument was going on between the male and female. Both of the parties involved were intoxicated.  A check of the male found that he was on a probation order with conditions not to communicate with this female and to keep the peace and be of good behavior.  The male was breaching both these conditions and was arrested.

The male is to appear in W.A.S.H court on Sunday March 15, 2015.                                

On March 15, 2015 Sault Ste. Marie Police officers were conducting an R.I.D.E. Program on Carmen’s Way. Officers checked a vehicle being operated by the accused, 44 year old Derek Maki of Searchmont, and found that his ability to operate the vehicle was impaired. The accused was returned to the police station where he failed a breathalyzer exam. The accused has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired and drive a motor vehicle in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol.

Maki will appear in court on April 13.
