Money was taken from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Shafer Ave. sometime overnight. A vehicle driven by 39 year old Anthony Zagordo of 235 Simpson Street was struck by a Huron Central Railway train on Sunday afternoon.

Money was taken from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Shafer Ave. sometime overnight.

A vehicle driven by 39 year old Anthony Zagordo of 235 Simpson Street was struck by a Huron Central Railway train on Sunday afternoon. Investigation revealed that Mr.Zagordo was proceeding south on Simpson Street when his vehicle, a black Dodge pickup truck was struck by the train which was proceeding east. The Zagordo vehicle was pushed approximately 15 metres before coming to a stop and Mr.Zagordo did not receive any injuries. He was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Disobey Railway Crossing Signal – Fail to Stop.

A break in occurred sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning at a residence in the 400 block of Wellington Street East. The owner reported it to the City Police today. It appears that entry was gained through a back door where the glass was broken at the top of the door and thieves were able to reach in and open the door from there. Home repair items were taken and no other damage was reported.
