24-year-old Samantha Dunlop of Douglas St. was arrested by City Police last night for an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in December 2013. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on June 30.

24-year-old Samantha Dunlop of Douglas St. was arrested by City Police last night for an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in December 2013. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on June 30.

On the morning of May 25, 2014 at approximately 3:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local hotel in the north end of the city.  An investigation by officers resulted in the discovery of an individual being in possession of quantity of controlled substances, including cocaine and of cannabis. A total of 16 grams of cocaine and 12.2 grams of cannabis as well as $3500 in cash were located. As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Jordan Cimino-Williamson of no fixed address was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime. During the arrest the accused fought with officers in an attempt to flee.  As a result of his actions, the accused is also charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.  He will be appearing in bail court Monday, May 26, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On May 25, 2014 at approximately 11 a.m. patrol officers responded to a report of a male and female arguing in the west end of the city. Investigation by officers revealed that during the argument the male party [allegedly] assaulted the female by throwing hot coffee on her. The investigation also revealed allegations of a dated assault that had gone previously unreported to police. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old male has been arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief. He will be appearing in bail court May 26, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On May 25, 2014, at approximately 11:50 a.m., officers with the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a RIDE check on Hwy 17E near Thessalon. As a result of a vehicle and records check, OPP officers arrested 25-year-old Jordan Morrar of Nichol St., Sault Ste. Marie on outstanding warrants held by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. Morrar was returned to the custody of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and stands charged with breaching the recognizance of his bail release and failing to attend to have his finger prints taken. He will be appearing in bail court May 26, 2014 at 10 a.m.

Sometime during the early morning hours of May 25, 2014 a number of vehicles parked in an underground parking garage in the area of Pine St. and Queen St. had their windows broken.

Sometime overnight unknown persons forced entry into a residence in the 0-100 block of Princess Crest. The suspects removed a screen from a back window and broke the window to gain entry. A small amount of cash was taken.
