Joint Forces Drug Unit Project Reno Arrests – update:

In addition to the several arrest warrants executed by officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the RCMP and the Anishinabek Police Service in a two month street level drug enforcement initiative; an additional warrant was executed at approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning.

37-year old Sabrina Mae Cloutier of Elmwood Avenue was arrested and charged with three counts of trafficking in a Schedule 1 substance (fentanyl and cocaine). The offences are alleged to have occurred in October and July of 2014.  Cloutier was also charged with breach of probation and will appear in court on 15 Dec 2014.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service had RIDE officers out in various locations this evening.  144 cars were checked and 4 provincial offence tickets issues.  No arrests for impaired driving.

At approximately 2 a.m. this morning officers were enroute to check on a possible impaired driver in the city’s east end when they came across three motor vehicles racing at an excessively high rate of speed on Queen St. E. near Hugill St.  27 year old Muhammad SHAH of 3 Hugill St. was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving (driving 125 km/hr in 50 km/hr zone) and drive while licence suspended. In addition his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  The two other drivers also received traffic offence tickets for not producing proof of insurance.
