On the morning of October 18, 2015 members of Investigation Services and patrol officers arrested and charged 45-year-old Michael Yaroshuk of Wellington St. E for robbery and breach of probation. It is alleged that in August of this year, Yaroshuk forced his way into an apartment of a person known to him. While in the apartment, Yaroshuk and the victim became involved in a struggle when Yaroshuk [allegedly] attempted to steal from him. He will be appearing in court November 16, 2015.
On the morning of October 18, 2015 officers attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and arrested a 29-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that the male threatened bodily harm to a staff member. He will be appearing in court October 20, 2015.
A vehicle in the 100 Block of Trunk Rd was entered overnight. The suspect attempted to remove the radio from the vehicle.
A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Willoughby Ave. Suspects forced open the front door to gain entry. Jewelry, silverware and money was reported stolen.
On October 17, 2015 at 11:15 p.m., J.P. Marcello, 28 years, of Second Line W. was arrested by City Police and charged with mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation. It is alleged that Mr. Marcello approached a vehicle in the parking lot of the Market Mall on Second Line W. and scratched the window glass and paint on it with a box-cutter style knife. At the time of the offence, Mr. Marcello was on probation with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He will be appearing in court on November 23, 2015.
