On October 19th Police Officers responded to a complaint of the theft of a boat and trailer.

On October 19th Police Officers responded to a complaint of the theft of a boat and trailer. Officers learned that sometime between four pm on the 18th of October and lunch time on the 19th of October unknown culprits attended at a residence located on Cunningham Street in Sault Ste. Marie. Once there these culprits proceeded to steal a fifteen and a half foot Springbox boat which was on a trailer. The boat is described as being black on the bottom and orange on the top and having a black canopy.

On October 19, 2014 at 3:25 pm Tyler Verville, age 24 of 242 Beverley St, Unit 2 Sault Ste. Marie attended at the Police Services Building to turn himself in. He was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Mischief. It is alleged that on October 3rd Verville swung an object at a motorcycle that was travelling on the roadway. The object struck the motorcycle damaging it. Further a passenger on the motorcycle was also struck in the hand. The victim required medical treatment at Sault Area Hospitals for an injured hand. The accused will appear in court on November 17th.

On October 18, 2014 City Police responded to an assault incident in the east end of the city.  It is alleged that Raed Talal Yanbaawi age 25 of Adrian Drive assaulted the victim by grabbing him by the arm, punching him in the chest twice and then grabbing him by the face.  The victim complained of a sore chest and throat. The accused was arrest and charged with assault.  The accused is scheduled to attend court on November 24, 2014 at 9:00 am.

On October 18th, 2014 City Police arrested the accused Laura Williams age 41 of Wellington Street East for conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and breach of probation.  It is alleged that between October 15, and October 16, 2014 the accused conspired with another person to break into a residence and while at the residence commit theft.  The accused was also on court ordered probation conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 24, 2014 at 9:00 am.

On October 19, 2014 at approximately 12:37 pm City Police stopped a vehicle on Albert Street East regarding an expired validation tag on a vehicle.  On speaking to the female driver it is alleged that a strong odor of alcohol was detected on her breath.  The driver told police she had been drinking. The driver was read a breath demand and requested a sample of her breath into an approved screening device. The female was given several opportunities to provide a sample of her breath.  Police arrested the accused Heather Denise Leblanc, age 34 for failing to provide a sample of her breath. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 10, 2014 at 9:00 am.
