A 36-year-old male will appear in Bail Court on Monday charged with criminal harassment after it is alleged that between 05 Sept 2013 and 19 October 2013 he engaged in harassing behaviour that caused the victim to fear for her safety.

A 36-year-old male will appear in Bail Court on Monday charged with criminal harassment after it is alleged that between 05 Sept 2013 and 19 October 2013 he engaged in harassing behaviour that caused the victim to fear for her safety. It is alleged he repeatedly called, followed, texted, emailed and attended the victim’s employment.

A 33-year-old male will appear in Bail Court on Monday charged with criminal harassment after it is alleged that on the 20th of October 2013 after being warned to stay away from his estranged spouse’s residence, he called her 14 times on her cell phone, sent 42 text messages and made six calls to her home phone. At approximately 4 a.m. he returned to the residence and was arrested trying to get into the victim’s bedroom window.

Male wanted in connection to shooting

Investigators with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have obtained a warrant of arrest for 35-year-old Alexander Benjamin McKenna. Mr. McKenna is wanted for one count of attempt murder in relation to a shooting in the early morning hours of October 20, 2013. Mr. McKenna is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see him do not approach him but contact the Sault Ste. Shooting update

Officers from Investigation Services with the assistance of Patrol Services, the Emergency Services Unit and the K-9 Unit are actively working on this investigation. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to reassure the public that this is not a random act of violence. The male victim and the male suspect are known to each other. The victim remains in the Sault Area Hospital with life threatening injuries after being shot in the torso area. The identity of the suspect is known to the police and all available resources are being utilized at this time to locate him. Shooting incident

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating a shooting incident from overnight. At approximately 02:48 hours police were called to the Roosevelt Hotel at 306 Korah Road for an altercation and gun shots in the bar area. One male has been taken to hospital suffering from a gunshot wound and is in undisclosed condition at this time. The investigation is actively ongoing and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.

Morning news

On October 19, 2013 Patrol Officers attended at a parking lot on McNabb St. where they spoke to an adult female who was complaining that her car window had been broken. Officers learned that her ex-boyfriend had broken the window. The male was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000. He will appear in Wash Court on October 20.
