A 24 year old man was arrested by City Police officers early this morning for a domestic related incident. It is alleged the male was at the west end apartment of his ex-girlfriend when an argument ensued between the two of them escalating to the point where the male bit the victim on her neck. Police were called and were able to eventually locate the accused hiding in the basement of the apartment building. He was charged with one count of assault and four counts of breaching a probation order which he was on, dealing with non communication and staying away from the residence of the victim. He will be appearing in Bail Court on October 28th.

On October 26 shortly after 4 p.m, security at Sears had arrested a male for shoplifting. The male after being brought to the store security office to be processed, fled on foot from the store. Police officers located the male a short distance from the mall on Bay St. The male Rene Butorac-Doucette, age 19 of 24 Clearview Dr. Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with Theft and Escape Lawful Custody. He will appear in court on November 25.

On October 26, 2013 at 10:40 p.m. patrol officers checked a male on Pine St. Officers learned the male was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for assault. Officers arrested and charged Andre Lapensee, age 18 of 38 Grove Cres. Sault Ste. Marie, on the strength of this warrant. He will appear in court on November 25.

On October 26 just before midnight patrol officers were called to a residence on Albert St. East for a domestic argument. Officers learned the domestic had escalated into an assault when the male assaulted his girlfriend. The female’s injuries did not require medical attention. Officers arrested and charged a 44-year-old male with assault. The accused will appear in court on October 27, 2013.

On October 27, 2013 at 3:00 am Police Officers attended at 441 Queen St. West for a noise complaint. Officers spoke to Ronald Mearow, age 33 of 441 Queen St. West, Unit 306, and found he was wanted on an arrest warrant for breach of probation. He will appear in court on November 25, 2013.
