Morning news

A 19-year-old male was arrested by City Police officers Saturday afternoon with regards to domestic related incidents. Officers attended to a west end housing complex after receiving information of a male and female arguing. After further investigation, officers located the male inside the female’s apartment. A check on the male revealed he was wanted on outstanding warrants and was also breaching conditions of a current probation order. As a result he was charged with four counts of breaching his probation as well as a failure to re-attend court from an earlier charge. He will be appearing in WASH court Sunday morning.

A break in occurred at a local hair salon on Bay Street in September of 2012. A DNA sample was obtained from the scene and in May of this year the Northern Regional Forensics Lab advised City Police the sample belonged to an Aaron Wilson of Sault Ste Marie and as a result a warrant was issued for Wilson’s arrest.  On October 5, 2013 at approximately 11:30 p.m., City Police officers attended to the Greyhound Bus Terminal as they had received information that the accused was arriving in Sault Ste. Marie on the bus. Mr. Wilson was in fact on the bus and subsequently arrested and charged with break and enter and breach of probation. He will be appearing in Provincial Court November 4.
