While investigating a break-and-enter to a business in the 200 block of Queen Street West, Sault Ste. Marie police officers gathered information to believe an accused broke into the building earlier on Feb. 21, 2023. While inside the business the accused stole an amount of money.

Officers went to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre, where the accused was in custody, and made an arrest. On Feb. 22, officers in Patrol Services charged 32-year-old Jordan Wiles with:

• break-and-entering with intent
• theft under $5,000
• fail to comply with undertaking

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
