This week's 'Wanted Wednesday' subject arrested and faces robbery, weapons charges

With the assistance of the public, officers were able to identify the accused and he was taken into custody today

On July 26, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27-year-old Jestin Ryan of no fixed address for robbery.

It is alleged that on July 19, 2018 the accused attended the Mac’s Mart Convenience Store on Wellington Street East. The accused took a firearm from the waistband of his pants and pointed it at the clerk demanding cash. The accused fled the area with an amount of cash and other items.

Soon after, officers requested the public’s assistance to identify the suspect. With the assistance of the public, officers were able to identify the accused and he was taken into custody on July 26. The accused has been charged with;

  • One count of robbery,
  • One count of careless use of a firearm,
  • One count of pointing a firearm,
  • One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • One count of possession of a concealed weapon,
  • One count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and;
  • One count of possession of a weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized

He was held for bail court. Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
