Three charged with break and enter

Police searched the vehicle and found bolt cutters, drug paraphernalia and small amounts of narcotics believed to be heroin and fentanyl

On March 17, 2019 officers with the Break and Enter division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 41 year old Jeremy Bjornaa of Abbott Street, 24 year old Michael Hogan-Denis of Albert Street East, and 27 year old Isabelle Bouchard of Wellington Street East for break and enter.

It’s alleged all three accused entered a property in the 600 block of John Street and cut a number of locks securing units. Police were called and inspected footprints leading from the property, and spotted a vehicle driving towards them.

Officers blocked the exit and asked the occupants to clear the vehicle. Once they exited, police searched the vehicle and found bolt cutters, drug paraphernalia and small amounts of narcotics believed to be heroin and fentanyl. Further investigation determined the vehicle was stolen, a stolen car battery was located inside the vehicle as well as pieces of identification and a cheque. The female accused was also found to be in possession of a quantity of oxycodone, and bank and identification cards. All three were taken into custody and charged with a number of offences.

On March 20, 2019 as a result of a further investigation all three of the accused were arrested and charged with additional offences.

Jeremy Bjornaa is charged with three counts of break and enter, one count of possession of break in tools, one count of possession of stolen property, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of occupying a vehicle without consent.

Michael Hogan-Denis is charged with three counts of break and enter, one count of possession of break in tools, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, four counts of breach of probation, two counts of possession of stolen property, one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of breach of undertaking.

Isabelle Bouchard is charged with three counts of break and enter, one count of possession of break in tools, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, six counts of possession of stolen property, eight counts of possession of identification documents, one count of breach of probation, one count of occupying a vehicle without consent, one count of possession of counterfeit money and one count of breach of undertaking.

All three of the accused were held for bail court.
