Domestic Incidents
1) On the 18th of April just before midnight a 31 year-old male was arrested at his downtown residence in regards to a domestic assault. He was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of threatening death or bodily harm and one count of mischief under $5,000.
It is alleged that the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s downtown residence threatened to kill her and assaulted her by attempting to choke her. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted and threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend’s female friend that was there at the time of the incident. The accused also smashed a cell phone belonging to this female. The victims did not require medical attention. The accused will be appearing in bail court this morning.
2) On the 18th of April just before noon a 17 year-old female was arrested at the city police station in regards to another domestic related incident. It is alleged that the accused attended at her ex-boyfriend’s west-end residence on the 17th of April at 10 pm and assaulted him by slapping him a number of times in the face. While at the residence the accused also broke a window. The female has been charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief. She is to appear in court on the 30th of May.
Assault in Station Mall
18 year-old Andrew Nolan of 12 Alpine Street was arrested just after 8 pm last night in the food court area at Station Mall. It is alleged that the accused assaulted another male known to him by punching him in the face several times. The assault was witnesses by city police that were present in the Mall on an unrelated matter. The accused was charged with one count of assault and will be appearing in court on the 28th of May.
Theft & Attempted Break & Enter
33 year-old Gray Latvanen of 19 Anna Street was arrested on the 18th of April at 12:30 pm at a downtown business and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of attempt break and enter. It is alleged that on the 18th of April the accused attended at the Station Mall Drug Mart and stole cologne from the store and fled. The accused was located in the downtown area approximately one hour later by police. At this time the police discovered that the accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from an attempt break and enter to HR Lash Men’s Wear on John Street on the 16th of April. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of May.
Break & Enter
A residence on Connaught Avenue was broke into sometime between 8:45 am and 4:30 pm on the 18th of April. Items reported stolen were a camera and a play station 2.
