Probation Violation
On August 29th, 2013 at 5:40 am Police Officers arrested and charged a 23 year old male for Failing to Comply with His Probation Order. The male was on probation from a previous domestic charged and failed to abide by his conditions. He will appear in court on August 29, 2013 at 10:00.
Theft and Breach
On the 29Aug13 accused Michael Gingras, age 22 of 2820 Mission Rd. Goulais River attended the Wal-Mart at 293 Bay Street at 9:14 am. He proceeded to the automotive department and then proceeded to steal several car stereo's. Officers arrested and charged him with Theft under $5,000.00. Records check revealed Gingras to be on an undertaking with a condition prohibiting him from going to any Wal-Mart in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Further Gingras was on probation with conditions not to attend the Station Mall. He was additionally charged with Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Probation. He will appear in court on 30Aug13.
Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision_-Update
The investigation into the fatal MVC from Wednesday evening is ongoing with a post mortem taking place this afternoon at the Sault Area Hospital. At this time no charges are anticipated and the investigation will continue under the authority of the Coroner.
At the request of the next of kin the Sault Ste Marie Police Service will not be releasing the identity of the deceased.
Motor Vehicle Collision:
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred last evening at the intersection of Albert Street East and Spring Street. The accident involved a motorcycle and an SUV. Officers with Traffic Services are continuing their investigation and more information will be provided when is becomes available. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Morning news:
36yr old Brandi-Lyn Radford of no fixed address was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2013 at 11:00am she stole hair dye valued at $36 from Walmart in the Station Mall. She is scheduled to appear in court September 30th, 2013 at 9am.
18yr old Sydney Haus of 33 Walnut St. was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2013 at 2:10pm she stole lip balm valued at $16.92 from Walmart in the Station Mall. She is scheduled to appear in court September 30th, 2013 at 9am.
A garage in the 300 block of Alexandra St was broken into sometime between the 25th – 27th of August, 2013. Unknown persons broke in and stole a queen size bed and computer monitor.
A business in the 400 block of Bruce St was broken into at approx. 4:00am on the 29th of August, 2013. The business owner received a call that his alarm had been activated, and notified police. Nothing was taken.
