On the 14th of February City Police patrol officers investigated a theft from a residence in the 700 block of Pine St. Among the items stole was a Samsung Plasma television. This television was later pawned at a local pawn shop and through further investigation officers were able to determine the identity of the accused. On February 19th, 20 year old Michael Turmaine of McNabb St. was charged with possession of stolen property and will be appearing in Provincial Court March 23rd.

Last evening city police attended at a west end residence for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that a 20-year-old male assaulted his girlfriend and also threatened her and another adult female in the residence. It is further alleged that the accused damaged some drywall in the residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He accused has been charged with one count of assault, two counts of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.
Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, city police attended at the intersection of Wellington Street West and Carmen’s Way for a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival officers noted that one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol. As a result, 23-year-old Dana Steffler of Goulais Avenue was charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. She will appear in court on March 23.
On the 18th of March, between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., a red Briggs and Stratton snow blower was stolen from a residence on North Street.
On February 15 Sault Ste Marie Drug Enforcement officers executed a CDSA search warrant on a residence on Albert Street East. Located in the search was a marijuana grow operation with 4 seedling plants. Also located was 16 grams of cultivated marijuana. On February 18th officers located one of the residents, 29-year-old Lorraine Roach and charged her with cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Roach will be attending court on March 23.
