On January 14, 2015, city police responded to an address on St Georges Avenue where an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance. He refused to obey police directions and did not want to leave the building.

He refused to obey police directions and did not want to leave the building. The male would have continued to cause the residents of the building problems and was even offered a ride to another address. He was arrested for breaching the peace when all other avenues failed and was lodged in the police cells for the evening.

On January 13, 2015, city police were called to an alleged road rage incident. Information was given to the officers that a male driver in a GMC pickup truck had allegedly been cut off by another vehicle. The man became enraged and followed the car flashing his high beams causing the second driver to slow down because he was unable to see properly. The man in the GMC then pulled up alongside the car and struck the car mirror with an unknown object smashing it. The GMC driver then sped in front of the car and jammed on the brakes causing the car to slide into the rear of the pickup. The GMC driver then proceeded to get out of his truck and repeatedly punch the car’s driver in the head. The driver of the car backed up and promptly took off where-upon the GMC driver began to chase the car in his truck through the downtown area of the city. Charged with assault and dangerous driving is Jeremy Long (age 23) of Second Line East. He will be appearing in court on February 16, 2015 at 9 a.m.

On January 14, 2015, city police apprehended a female wanted on numerous warrants. She was transported to the City Police Station where she will be appearing in bail court on January 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. Charged is Rose-Mary Pheasant (age 30) of Huron Street. She was wanted for breach of probation x 3, fail to appear in court x 3, theft under $5,000 x 2, fail to comply with release conditions x 4 and personation.

Back in November 2014 Curtis White (age 25) was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 from Rome’s Independent Grocery Store. He was given a court date, to answer to the charge, which he failed to appear for. He was featured on Wanted Wednesday. The man turned himself into the police and will be appearing in court on February 16, 2015 at 9 a.m. to answer to the original charge and the newly added fail to appear in court charge.

On January 14, 2015, city police responded to the report of a domestic dispute in the 700 block of Second Line West. It is alleged a male assaulted his female partner by slapping her in the face. He is charged with common assault and breach of probation and will be appearing in bail court on January 15, 2015 at 10 a.m.
