Threatening
41 year old Kevin Bouchard of 859 Cooper St. has been charged with threatening a person known to him. He was released with a court date of 25 Feb 2013.
Traffic Disruptions tomorrow on Trunk Road
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to advise the pubic of an upcoming traffic disruption at the intersection of Trunk Road and Highway 17 & 17B East. We have been notified of a protest that is anticipated to run from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the intersection. Members of the public are advised to expect delays in the affected area and wherever possible seek alternate routes to your destinations. Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will be on scene monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all members of the public.
Arrests/Charged Persons:
On January 16, 2013 at approximately 4:00pm Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment checked and individual and found that there were outstanding warrants held by the Sault City Police. The accused was transported to the City Police Station and the warrants were executed. The warrants were from when the accused was a young offender. The accused was arrested for failing to attend court X 2, assault X 2 and breach of probation. The accused will appear in bail court on January 17, 2013 at 10:00am

London Ontario Police Service arrested a male age 35 and held him in custody for the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. Officers travelled to London Ontario and escorted the accused back to the Sault. The accused had been involved in a domestic violence incident on January 2, 2013. The accused was arrested for assault, choking and threatening death. The accused will appear in bail court on January 17, 2013 at 10:00am.

On January 16, 2013 officers attended in the 400 block of Queen Street West regarding a family dispute. Information revealed that an accused female had assaulted her father. The accused was also on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused age 21 was arrested and will appear in bail court on January 17, 2013 at 10:00am.

On January 16, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm police arrested Kristiani Ralph Mattila age 22 for uttering a forged document. The accused attempted to cash a cheque that he had signed that was not his property. The accused will appear in court on February 25, 2013 at 9:00am. While involved in the arrest another person was question and it was found that there were outstanding warrants for failing to attend court X 2 and breach of probation. The accused Shasta Rae Leziert, age 28 was arrested and will appear in court on January 25, 2013 at 9:00am.

On January 16, 2013, at approximately 1:00am officers received a call regarding domestic breaches of a court order (bail recognizance). The accused female had been released in bail court on January 16, 2013 and put on a recognizance. One of the conditions of the release was she was not to communicate or associate directly or indirectly with the victim. It is alleged that the accused telephone the victim or three occasions on January 16, 2013. The accused is charged with breach of a recognizance X 2. The accused will re-appear in bail court on January 17, 2013 at 10:00am
Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes:
There was attempt break and enter to a residence in th100 block of Eastern Avenue. Screens had been moved but it does not appear that entry was gained.
