Female charged for domestic violence-related offences
On Jan. 18, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old female for Domestic Violence related offences.
It is alleged that the accused attended the residence of her ex-boyfriend and engaged in a verbal argument with him. The accused then punched the victim in the face and kicked him in the stomach.
Police were contacted and the accused was arrested and charged with one count of assault. She will appear in court on Feb. 22, 2017.
Male charged for domestic violence-related offences
On Jan. 18, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie for Domestic Violence Related offences.
It is alleged that the victim had been assaulted on multiple occasions between September of 2014 and December of 2016. The accused would engage in verbal arguments with the victim and would pull the victim’s hair and block the victim’s path when she tried to leave. On one occasions the accused it alleged to have pushed the victim while she was trying to leave.
The accused was arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of forcible confinement. He will appear in bail court today.
