Investigation Services are currently investigating a robbery that took place overnight at a residence on Second Line East.  At approximately 1:11 am, three males wearing black balaclavas broke into the residence. The suspects were armed with a gun and a pipe and demanded cash from the residents.  Three residents were home at the time and one of them was struck with the pipe during the robbery.  The suspects fled on foot with the victim’s bank card, cell phones and home phones.  Police searched the area with negative results and believe the suspects fled from the scene in a vehicle.  The resident is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.

The only description available at this time is the suspects were all males, wearing black clothing and black balaclavas.

Male and Female Arrested in Relation to Shoplifting Incidents:

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two adults in relation to shoplifting incidents yesterday.
1) Sean Seguin, age 32 of 36 Wallace Terrace charged with one count of theft under $5,000,00 and one count of possession of stolen property for allegedly stealing merchandise at Zellers.
2) Caterina Ochoa, age 37 of #2-539 North Street charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 for allegedly stealing items at Sears.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Justin Odo of #3-544 Albert Street West overnight on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of fail to appear court.  It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on the 27th of February in relation to a drug possession charge.  He is now to appear in court on the 2nd of April. 

Three Males Arrested Over Night for Possession of Stolen Property:

At approximately 4:02 am this morning officers received a complaint regarding a stolen snowmobile from a residence on Bonney Street.  The owner heard the snowmobile being started up and being driven off and notified police.  The owner and police were able to follow the fresh tracks to a garage on Churchill Avenue and located the stolen snowmachine in possession of three males.  As a result the following males were arrested and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime with the court date of the16th of April.

1) Brent Macdonald, age 39, of 157 Churchill Avenue
2) Rick Kohlbacher, age 19, of 291 Selby Road
3) Shaun Monk, age 35, of 26 Silverdale Avenue

Female Youth Arrested for Robbery and Drug Possession: 

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15 year-old female youth on the 29th February and charged her with one count of robbery and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.  It is alleged that on the 20th of February at approximately 5 pm the accused, and another female suspect, assaulted and robbed a female youth that was walking on Wellington Street East.  The victim received non-life threatening injuries and had her Blackberry phone stolen during the incident.  When the accused was arrested, she was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of April.  Charges are pending against the second female suspect.

Break and Enter Report:

A business in the 400 block of Great Northern Road was broken into sometime overnight from the 28th – 29th of February.  Cash was reported taken.
