Detectives from the City Police arrested 37 year old Sara Bower of 484 Shannon Rd. on an outstanding warrant earlier today. It is alleged Miss Bower failed to attend court on December 3rd 2012 in relation to theft, possession and breach of probation charges. She is now scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on April 22nd.

61 year old Wayne St. John of 34 Centre Street was arrested by City Police today for assault. It is alleged Mr. St. John was at Rome’s Grocery store and was being escorted from the store by security after being asked to leave due to bothering some of the employees. On his way out of the store he began assaulting the security guard and was subsequently arrested. Mr. St. John will be appearing in Court on April 22nd.

On the 13 March 2013 Security Staff observed a female take a winter jacket off a shelf at Sears and walk out without paying. She was approached outside where she ran. Security staff caught and apprehended the accused female. City police attended and found she was on a previous release document from Alberta. Charged with theft under $5,000.00 is Amber Dawn Sweeney (age 27) of no fixed address. She will be appearing in court on the 15 April 2013

City police attended the 100 block of Old Garden River Road for a theft complaint. It is alleged that a female stole prescription medication (blister pack) from another female known to the accused. Charged with theft under $5,000.00, possession of stolen property and breach of probation is Alaina St. John of 59 Old Garden River Rd. She will be appearing in court 15 April 2013.

On the 13 March 2013 the City Police Street team was doing compliance checks for Conditional Sentence Orders. They attended the residence of Melville Harper (age 58) of 134 Pardee Ave. Mr. Harper was found breaching his Conditional Sentence by consuming alcohol. He was taken to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center to await a bail hearing in the morning.

On the 13 March 2013 City police attended a residence in the 100 block of Softwood Drive for a family dispute. It is alleged an argument escalated and a female victim was punched. Charged with common assault is Kelly Rose Sloth of 424 Brule Rd. She will be appearing in court on the 15 April 2013.

Police responded to the 500 block of Wellington St East on the 13 March 2013 for a domestic dispute. It is alleged a male and female were arguing and the female victim was elbowed in an ensuing altercation. The male was charged with assault and will be appearing in court on the 10 April 2013.
